Bee Pollen Powder In Supplements

2011-10-18 / Other / 0 Comments

Bee pollen pills are an innovative and completely natural way to increase your metabolism, your energy, and impart other great health benefits. The pollen that makes most individuals sneezy when flowers bloom is preserved and put into a capsule to be taken in pill form. But it is very important that your pills have properly processed bee pollen powder. This will ensure that you get the most punch per pill.

Why Powder?

Chances are you weren’t thinking about how pollen could help your health the last time you sniffed a flower. But the truth is that it has a great potential of doing just that. Some have called this substance nature’s most complete food. This is because the pollen is extremely rich in vital nutrients like minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and vitamins.

Think about some possible health goals people have: more energy, weight loss, higher metabolism, lower cholesterol. Bee pollen has been shown to greatly help accomplish all of these. As a matter of fact, pollen powder is even being studied for its positive effects against cancer. In studies around the world, the substance proved to improve the lives of cancer patients.

The best part about taking these power-packed supplements is that it is a natural and healthy way of taking care of yourself and boosting your health. It is for all these reasons that more and more people are choosing to take bee pollen supplements.

The Best Kind of Supplement

When you shop for a quality supplier you will want to check their methods of preserving the pollen. How pollen is preserved can greatly affect the potency, and consequentially the effect of, a pill. In order to maintain the integrity of a natural product, the best companies use a non-chemical method of extraction. The pollen powder is then carefully cleansed of nectar and possible bee saliva in order to bring you a quality supplement pill.

The clean bee powder undergoes a careful freeze dry process that is performed immediately after harvesting. This serves to lock in all the nutrients and vitamins of the powder in order to keep it fresh and effective. Any other method of preservation degrades and compromises the benefits of the pollen. These pills will lack effectiveness.

When you find a reliable company who can provide you with good quality bee pollen powder pills, you won’t even have to take a daily multivitamin anymore. The numerous vitamins (18, in fact), proteins, enzymes, detoxifiers, and more will serve to keep your body in excellent condition – both inside and out. These supplements will deliver the nutrients you need to maintain daily health as well as equip your immune system to ward off threats of illness.

Nitric Oxide for Muscle Growth

2011-07-23 / Other / 0 Comments

The Peoples Champion

Well-developed muscles are not only aesthetically appealing, but they also help improve your athletic performance and protect your body from possible injury, which is reason again why more and more people are now supplementing with nitric oxide for muscle growth. Although nothing still beats a good combination of diet and exercise to build muscle, supplementing has now become commonplace among bodybuilders worldwide. And nitric oxide (NO) is among the most popular types of supplements because of its significant benefits not only on the development of muscle fibre and strength, but in some areas of health as well.

Most people use N.O Supps purely for the energy, strength and focus it affords them before and during a workout. But recently more and more people begin to reap the benefits of faster recovering muscles leading to accelerated results by combining Nitric with a high protein Diet.

What Exactly IS This Substance?

Aside from being one of the most popular supplements in the market today, NO is really a gas compound that is naturally produced within your body. Its primary function is to transmit messages between and among your cells. The substance also enhances blood flow to your tissues by dilating your blood vessels, and because of this function, it is believed to lower blood pressure as well. As regards the supplements bodybuilders are taking, the active ingredient is not really NO, but L-Arginine, which is an amino acid that produces nitric oxide in your body.

Recent Scientific Advances

The actual benefits of nitric oxide for specific muscle growth and overall development are currently being investigated in the scientific community. It is already proven that N.O improves endurance, focus, strength and muscle pumps. The good news is that early reports indicate that NO supplements are indeed able to increase protein synthesis in your muscles due to the increase in blood flow. Take note that an increase in blood flow consequently means an increase in the oxygen level and amount of essential nutrients being delivered to your muscle tissues. What is so good about this is that it will allow your muscles to perform better and for much longer periods each time you work out. More oxygen and nutrients also translates to faster recovery for your muscles, which means that you will be able to do more workout sessions each week.

How exactly do your muscles grow and how does nitric oxide for muscle growth help in the process? Well, as your muscles undergo several bouts of resistance when you lift weights, your muscle fibres are torn. Such damage will then activate the cells surrounding the muscle tissue, signalling them to repair the damage, and so they start to fuse together. This fusing action, in turn, leads to an increase in the number and thickness of your muscle fibres, thus enlarging your muscles. Aside from this, muscle growth also occurs when the protein synthesis in the body outnumbers the protein breakdown within your muscle fibres.

Fast Recovery Equals Faster Progress

When you supplement with NO, the recovery time of your muscles is shortened, which means that you will be able to experience muscle growth and development much quicker than before. Faster results may also be brought about by the fact that the substance helps in protein synthesis itself. Take note, however, that just like any other supplement, you need to consult your doctor before you start taking nitric oxide for muscle growth in order to make sure that you will not suffer from any potential side effects and will be able to take full advantage of what the supplement has to offer.

This Indian Spice Packs a Powerful Anti-Cancer Punch

2011-07-19 / Other / 0 Comments

Known as a staple in the Indian diet, curry and its powerful polyphenol derivative curcumin have rapidly gained attention as a potent antioxidant compound that is used to prevent and treat many forms of cancer. Curcumin is taking its rightful place among a small handful of agents that fight cancer at the genetic level by inhibiting ten critical initiation steps necessary for development and progression of the disease. The spice can no longer be considered an herbal remedy as it has demonstrated efficacy in more than 240 peer reviewed research studies over the past year alone. Scientists continue to provide conclusive evidence that indicates all health-minded adults should include curcumin as part of their regular diet.

Curcumin Influences Gene Expression That Leads to Cancer

Cancer is known to develop through ten independent causative factors including DNA damage, chronic inflammation, cellular signaling dysfunction, abnormal cell death and metastasis. As if designed by nature to provide a protective shield against each of the factors known to promote cancer, curcumin has been shown to inhibit and halt the expression of genes that allow cancer cells to multiply.

Publishing in the AAPS Journal, researchers found that curcumin is an inexpensive natural compound that fights cancer at its root cause by derailing the initiation phase of ten different pathways used by the disease to multiply and spread throughout the body. Curcumin has also been shown to interfere with the production of advanced glycation end products that promote the accumulation of dangerous inflammatory byproducts that lead to cancerous mutations.

Curcumin Shown to Trigger Natural Cell Death to Prevent Cancer

The FEBS Journal reports that curcumin is particularly effective in targeting hormone-dependent forms of the disease such as breast cancer. The study found that curcumin is able to induce apoptosis (normal programmed cell death) in the most resistant breast cancer cells that lack estrogen receptors. The spice targets only cancerous cells causing them to self-destruct by destroying the mitochondria that power the rapidly growing tumor tissue.

Curcumin is a potent agent in the fight against colon cancer, an insidious form of the disease that ranks second among cancer deaths taking the lives of more than 50,000 Americans each year. The Journal of Interferon and Cytokine Research provides evidence that curcumin slows the progression from colon polyp to cancerous growth by damping the pro-inflammatory cytokine called NF-kB. This action halts the development of cancer cells before they can become detectable tumors.

An extensive library of research underscores the importance of curcumin as an anti-cancer agent. As the second leading cause of death, cancer will affect 1 in 3 women and half of all men during their lifetime. Any natural compound that can help to lower these statistics should be embraced by traditional and alternative medical institutions alike. Nutritionists recommend supplementing with 250 to 400 mg of curcumin twice daily with meals to provide optimal cancer protection.

Intestinal Cleansers – Products Review

2011-06-21 / Other / 0 Comments

Intestinal cleansers are popular products used to enhance a colon cleanse. They come in a variety of herbs, fibers and diets; some work while others do not. Trial and error is the most popular method used to see if a product works or not. The problem with this is that some can actually cause certain health issues due to laxatives or other ingredients that just may not work for you.

Most articles review intestinal cleansers according to the commission they pay. The ones with more testimonials and higher commissions get more reviews therefore higher ratings. Unfortunately this may not be one of the best ways to tell if a product is any good.

You will not find the most popular Internet intestinal cleansers here. This intestinal cleanser product review is based on a holistic health cleansing center located in the Los Angeles, California area. They are judged by a nutritional counselor and colon hydrotherapist according to what received the best results over ten years of practice.

A good product combining intestinal cleansers of herbs and fiber was the Arise & Shine line. The complete cleanse program consisted of psyllium fiber, bentonite clay, and an intestinal cleanser called “Chomper.”

Chomper consists of Peppermint leaf, Cascara Sagrada Bark, Plantain Leaf, Barberry Bark, Fennel Seed, Ginger Root, Myrrh Gum Resin, Red Raspberry Leaf, Rhubarb Root, and Goldenseal Root. These are nicely blended to assist the fiber and bentonite to help your body remove built up toxins and waste.

This product can be found with or without cayenne added. Cayenne is a nice addition to any program as it enhances the other herbs and helps them absorb more readily into your body. It is also used by many to strengthen heart tissue as well as stimulate not only blood flow, but intestinal movement as well. Due to its strength, this herb can cause a bit of discomfort for some, so Arise & Shine made both versions.

The next supplement highly used with excellent results was Sonne brand. This was a brand was started by Victor Irons, one of the founding fathers of modern colon cleanse programs. The Irons family has kept up the tradition with this fine line of herbal supplements since 1946.

This line has a 7 Day Cleanse that uses a superior blend of fiber, herbs, green superfood supplement and even includes wheat germ oil for a complete cleanse. It also has what they call a “detoxificant,” which is their name for bentonite clay.

For those who do not know, bentonite clay is used towards the end of a normal four week cleanse to help remove what it called intestinal or mucosal plaque. It can be heavy and is best used with a very light diet and only for a short period of time.

Many health professionals first use 3-4 week general cleanse with gentler ingredients, then used more intensive programs (such as those with bentonite clay) as a 7 day fast. This helped clients’ bodies adjust to taking colon cleansing supplements and the change of diet.

The most popular and well-liked brand by therapists and clients alike is the Herbal Fiberblend (powder form and raspberry flavor only) by AIM (American Image Marketing). This is an all-in-one product and seems to work well with both first time cleansers as well as seasoned health practitioners.

It combines a combination of fibers and herbs that help along a colon cleanse. Because it is all-in-one and in powder form, the amount can be adjusted to suit any client and raised as the client’s body requires. The herbs are balanced with each other as well as the fiber so no matter what amount you take, you will get the right balance of what you need.

The Sonne brand may be found at your local health market or even in some larger markets. But the Arise & Shine and Herbal Fiberblend are both found online. Research each even more before you decide and if you are taking medications, be sure to check with your doctor before taking any herbal intestinal cleansers or colon cleanse products.

Bodybuilding Supplements – 4 Inconvenient Truths

2011-06-18 / Other / 0 Comments

In today’s society we are all looking for ways to get results as quickly and efficiently as possible in everything that we set out to do. One of the most common areas that people want improvements as quickly as possible is in the world of bodybuilding. While the allure of being able to take a pill or powder supplement to help you quickly pack on muscle and burn fat is a very powerful one indeed, the reality is that most bodybuilding supplements fall far short of living up to their promises.

There are 4 main truths about supplements that everyone should know when considering using supplements with their bodybuilding or fitness program:

1. Supplements are expensive
2. Supplements do not live up to their promises
3. Supplements are dangerous
4. Most Supplements are completely unnecessary

Supplements are Expensive

A monthly supply of a single supplement can run you anywhere from $20 all the way up to over $100 – and that is for just one supplement. I would venture to say that the average bodybuilding enthusiast is continually taking at least 3 or 4 supplements at any given time and is spending over $100 every month on supplements with the hopes that they are going to give them the edge they need to get ripped. Sadly, most of this is simply money wasted on supplements that promise one thing yet deliver another.

Supplements Do Not Live Up To Their Promises

Ads by supplement companies promise you the world in order to get you to buy their products. Their ads are always accompanied by pictures of some ripped out steroid users who have never actually used the products they are promoting. If the these “miracle drugs” actually worked every dude in the gym would be jacked! While there are a select few supplements that are worth using, you should never fall for the lie that any supplement, or stack of supplements, will finally be the secret to getting lean and muscular.

Supplements are Dangerous

New supplements hit the market everyday; most of which have only been tested for a matter of months before becoming available to the general public. While supplements may be mostly safe in terms of your short-term health, most supplements have not undergone adequate testing to determine if there may be any long term side effects from using them. Again, there are a select few supplements that have undergone sufficient testing to be deemed safe, but the majority of them do not fall into this category and should be avoided at all costs.

Most Supplements are Completely Unnecessary

Ever notice that on just about every set of before and after transformation photos used to advertise a product there is always a section of small print that explains that the results shown are not typical and that the subjects used their product in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise program? I am going to
let you in on a secret. Their diet and exercise was the reason they were able to transform their body – not the supplement! If you have been unable to significantly improve your physique, it is because your diet and training program is lacking; not because you aren’t taking the right supplements.

Stop risking your health, wasting your money and putting your hopes in the latest “revolutionary” pill or powder. There are a few supplements that are worth using, but if you are not training and eating with a purpose, you will never get a lean and muscular physique – period.

Whey Protein – A Necessary Step for Muscle Growth

2011-06-07 / Other / 0 Comments

Whey protein is a high quality protein powder from cow’s milk. It makes up approximately 20% of cow’s milk, while casein protein makes up approximately 80%. Whey protein is a higher quality protein and is absorbed much quicker than casein protein, making WHEY the first choice among those looking for fast absorption to repair muscles after intense physical training.
Mexican drugstore online
A lot of people overlook the importance of whey protein. Everyone wants instant results. A protein shake (used with consistency) is one of the best muscle building supplements. It should be a staple in your daily diet, not something you take every couple of days when you feel the need. Take whey protein daily with workout program and you will be rewarded with quality dense muscle and decreased body fat (with proper cardio and healthy diet plan).

When is the best time to drink Whey? You should drink a shake immediately after waking in the morning. Your body is in a catabolic state after fasting all night. Drink a protein shake containing 25-40 grams of protein followed by a whole food breakfast 1 hour later. Experts say that drinking a whey protein shake for breakfast can increase your metabolism by up to 25%.

Next, drink a protein shake 30-45 minutes before your workout. You want to elevate your levels of amino acids in the bloodstream prior to weight training. Pre-workout shakes prime your muscles for growth with amino acids, which help fuel your intense workouts. Taking whey proteins prior to your workout will ensure that your muscles will have a steady stream of protein during your workout so it can start to repair your damaged muscles before you leave the gym.

Last, but certainly not least, is the post-workout shake. Take 35-50 grams of whey protein immediately after your workouts. For best results, add in 60-80 grams of dextrose (for simple carbohydrates) to your shake. When you take in large amounts of dextrose your insulin levels will spike. The insulin will push the nutrients from your post-workout shake into your starving muscles priming them for maximum growth. Women looking for weight loss should skip on the dextrose, or cut dose in half (depending on fitness goals). The post-workout shake is crucial for recovery, since all of your muscle growth takes place outside the doors of your favorite gym. For optimum growth allow 48-72 hours between training body parts and remember, consistency for growth!

Cat’s Claw: You’ll Feel Purrfect

2011-04-28 / Other / 0 Comments

Thanks to the rise of Internet communication people have a lot more exposure to alternative medicine these days. As a result they are finally beginning to liberate themselves from their staid old doctors and take charge of their own well being. What’s been most exciting about this development has been the re-introduction of ancient herbal remedies that have proven their worth for thousands of years. Cat’s claw (Uncaria Tormentosa) is one such remedy: a potent vine pruned from bark in the remotest regions of the Andes Mountains.

Recent scientific studies have proven what the indigenous people of the Andes have known for generations: that cat’s claw is extremely effective for strengthening the immune system, reducing various forms of inflammation and cleansing/revitalizing the intestinal tract. As such it is the ideal remedy for any condition related to the three aforementioned phenomena, an excellent herbal supplement for maintaining rude health, and has potential benefits for patients of a host of other conditions such as cancer and HIV. Let’s take a look at some of that in greater detail.

Cat’s claw contains a number of rare alkaloids which cause it to strengthen the immune system when taken regularly. The principal alkaloid responsible for this benevolent effect is Isopteropodin which acts as a powerful anti-oxidant and eliminates harmful free radicals.

Cat’s claw’s anti-inflammatory properties are a result of the alkaloids glycoside, proanthocyanidin and beta sitosterol. Sufferers of rheumatism, arthritis, gout and just about any other inflammatory problem will benefit significantly and quickly from a course of treatment with cat’s claw.

Cat’s claw has long been taken for stomach and bowel problems. The vine’s cleansing properties make it an excellent course of treatment for intestinal problems such as irritable bowel syndrome, colitis and Crohn’s disease. Its unique curative properties mean it can be used to treat a host of ailments aside from the ones described above including the healing of wounds, gastric ulcers, chronic pain and viral and fungal infections.

If you’ve tried traditional remedies without success you owe it to yourself to take charge of your treatment and utilize remedies that have proven their effectiveness for countless generations. According to Doctor Alan Simpson: “Cat’s claw’s anti-inflammatory properties are a result of the alkaloids glycoside, proanthocyanidin and beta sitosterol. I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible curative effects of this herb. It deeply saddens me that more people aren’t aware of alternative remedies. Hopefully Internet distribution will help people who are suffering to find the right remedy.”

Give Your Body What It’s Crying Out For: Probiotics!

2011-04-19 / Other / 0 Comments

Do you ever suffer from digestive problems like indigestion, gas, constipation or diarrhea? Probiotics may well be the answer you’re looking for. The body has an abundance of micro organisms, consisting of both beneficial and harmful bacteria. Amazingly, these microbes are estimated to make up to between 3 and 5 pounds of our body weight.

Normal flora is the name given to the microbes that certain parts of the body need in order to operate. The lining of the gut has a layer of normal flora to keep the gastrointestinal tract working properly. The immune system also depends on normal flora to function effectively, as does the hormonal system (especially in women) where microbes help to maintain an optimum balance of the different hormones.

In the digestive system, beneficial bacteria help with the digestion of proteins and fats. Also, some of the bacteria produce vitamins such as those in the B-complex family and vitamin K-1, which is essential for the liver. Other bacteria aids with the digestion of carbohydrates.

A healthy balance of flora in the intestines also helps prevent gas and bloating, as well as maintaining pH balance, helping keep acidity in check. As mentioned earlier, friendly microbes also play an important role in immune system function. They inhibit the ability of attacking microbes to get nutrients as well as producing acids that are hostile to bad bacteria.

Good bacteria also bolster the mucous lining in the intestines. This barrier plays an important role in preventing disease because it helps block the absorption of hazardous pathogens, allergens and toxins. It also helps your body learn to distinguish safe bugs from harmful ones.

The immune system’s micro organisms also aid disease prevention by increasing the number of T-cells (T-cells are ‘helper’ cells that maximise immune function), and by having an antibiotic and anti-fungal action.

There are also a class of microbes that operate in the body’s hormonal system; they work to metabolise and recycle estrogen, thyroid hormones and others. These crucial micro-organisms help to maintain optimal hormonal balance and they can limit the effects of menopause and perimenopause.

All in all, beneficial bacteria are an amazing component of the human body. In addition to the benefits mentioned above, they can also neutralise toxicity caused by drugs and other harmful substances, and have even demonstrated anti-cancer effects.

If you’re looking for ONE thing that will have a big impact on every aspect of your health, make a smart choice and add a quality probiotic to your health regimen. Remember that there are quite a few different types and strengths available: be sure to experiment and find one that works well for you.

Niacin – A Great Natural Healing Remedy for Lowering Cholesterol!

2011-04-09 / Other / 0 Comments

Niacin is an inexpensive, widely available natural healing remedy that is scientifically proven to reduce high cholesterol. It comes in three forms:

1. Nicotinic acid (vitamin B3) — the best and most studied form for the reduction of cholesterol. Can cause flushing (see below).

2. Nicotinamide, and 3. Inositol Hexaniacinate — these 2 forms are not as well studied regarding cholesterol lowering, but may be effective if you only need low to moderate adjustment in your cholesterol balance. Does not cause flushing.

It is not known precisely how niacin lowers cholesterol, but it is believed it reduces the amount of cholesterol manufactured by the liver. Not only does it reduce LDL (low density lipoprotein) and VLDL (very low density lipoprotein) – these are the so-called “bad” forms of cholesterol – but it increases the good forms of cholesterol! Double win!

One of the primary side effects when using the nicotinic acid form of niacin is flushing. Flushing can be very uncomfortable for some people – it causes a hot flash of sorts, making one’s face, chest, and other areas of the body feel hot and itchy. This is a temporary and non-harmful effect, but it can be unpleasant. Flushing can be reduced in two ways.

1) ramp up dosage slowly. Begin with a low dose for a few days, add a bit more for the next few days, and so on, until your therapeutic dosage level has been reached;

2) take a regular aspirin (325mg) 30-45 minutes before the niacin. In my research, I found a baby aspirin (80mg) was not a high enough dose to effectively reduce flushing in most people.

The other two forms of niacin are called “flush-free” formulations as they do not cause the same flushing reaction as nicotinic acid. However, the jury is still out regarding the effectiveness of these kinds of niacin on cholesterol. Simply put, these formulations just haven’t been studied as extensively, so there isn’t as much data to support or refute them. If you try nicotinic acid and cannot manage the flushing with either a titrated dose or aspirin, then switch to a flush-free formulation and keep tabs on your cholesterol numbers regularly to determine if it is helping.

The usual prescribed therapeutic dose to reduce cholesterol is 1-2g per day, 2-3 times daily. The maximum recommended dose is 6g daily. As I mentioned before, if you want to use niacin, start slowly and ramp up your dosage to reduce side effects.

THINGS TO BE AWARE OF

If you are diabetic, please be aware that niacin therapy can increase your blood sugar readings. In most people, it is a very slight increase and nothing to be concerned about if your diabetes is well controlled. Make sure to monitor your readings regularly and, as always, tell your doctor if you begin using a new over-the-counter remedy.

If you currently use a statin to reduce your cholesterol,do not add niacin without talking to your doctor. Taking the two together can produce serious conditions that can cause muscle breakdown. Statins are drugs such as: atorvastatin (Lipitor), lovastatin (Mevacor), simvastatin (Zocor) and others. Please check with your doctor if you’re not sure if you are taking a statin medication.

Side effects are generally mild and include flushing (as mentioned above), itching, tummy upset, hot flashes, palpitations. Most of these can be reduced or eliminated by using a non-flushing preparation. The bottle will say clearly if it is a “flush-free” or “non-flushing” type.

High cholesterol can be managed!! You do not have to be resigned to a fate of coronary artery disease. Adding the natural healing remedy of niacin to manage your high cholesterol is one more way you can take charge of your health.
